I’m so sick of people trying to make race into an issue – when it is clearly not! Michelle Obama claimed that America is still not equal! All I can say is show me a case where someone can’t pursue their dreams because of race. Sure there will always be racist among us, but the vast majority of Americans go out of their way to avoid offending someone of a different race (or other difference). I think it is an advantage to be a minority. Being different is considered a good thing in todays world – we always try to differentiate ourself, because it does benefit us to be different. Come on people, the president is a black man. We are talking about a man, who two generations ago would not even be allowed to vote. Show me any other country that can say the same. In many countries race is a real issue. For example, the recent race riots in South Africa and in Russia (80 people killed because of race). Many immigrants come to this country to get away from the racism of their home country. Yet our leaders and media outlets continue to tell us how horrible we all are and how much we hate each other…. It is nothing more than bullshit used to try and divide us. No we should never forget what happened in the past, so we can make sure we don’t repeat the same mistakes. But there comes a point when they just have to stop beating the dead horse, for personal gain and advancement of an agenda. I think the time is past due, and with the recent events I am just fed up. I can’t believe the support (from the media, obama admin, & naacp) for the new black panther party – their platform calls to re-segregate America…WTF!? How is that a good thing? As usual I am left with just more unanswered questions…
My request to Amazon.com to remove Wilder Publications
by Dustin on 12. Jun, 2010 in Politics
Many of you may already know about the disclaimer that Wilder Publications puts on their printing of the United States Constitution. Well, this upset me. I decided to share my disapproval of what this publisher has done with the company that I purchase all my books from, Amazon.com.
Here is what I emailed to Amazon.com…
I want to express my disapproval of Wilder Publications printing of the United States Constitution. I’d like to request Amazon.com consider choosing another publisher to purchase from.
I think I speak for many when saying that we the people don’t like bias messages stamped on the supreme law of this land.
I will leave my comment at this, because I am very upset with Wilder Publications. I am not upset with Amazon (I love buying books from Amazon), but I do want you to consider removing this publishers work (at least their printing of the Constitution).
Thank you,
Dustin W. Townsend

My Alternative to the Linear Left-Right Political Scale
by Dustin on 29. Apr, 2010 in Libertarianism, Politics
One of the things that causes so much polarization of political issues is the idea that an issue is Left Wing or Right Wing. I find this system disingenuous, because the issue being argued is usually in favor of one common thing…growing the government.
I think of the political scale in more of a triangle or pyramid, with the width of a “slice” representing the size of government. It is a work in progress (I came up with the idea today).
Who is Dustin?
I am a self-proclaimed technologist living in Smyrna, Georgia. I am a Libertarian.
